DAY N NIGHT

I can't get the Kid Cudi song "Day n Night" out of my head. Its the best hip hop song I've heard in years.

You Tube keeps disabling the videos I want to post, so to check it out you'll have to click here

People always told me don't forget your roots, I know I can feel them underneath my leather boots

For some reason I can't get sick of these guys even though I listen to their music all the time. Very excited for a new album. Love these pics. Found at weheartit.com

Talk out loud like you're still around

I'm kind of hooked on this song and band right now - this video is pretty awesome

Guns of Brixton

This classic Clash song has been in my head a lot lately. I've heard it covered several times, but I like the covers by Nouvelle Vague and Arcade Fire the best. I'd like to say the original is my favorite - but I reeealy like the Nouvelle Vague version.

The Clash video is pretty bad ass. In my opinion its hard to look cooler than someone authentically rockin' a fitted black leather jacket, tight black jeans (defiantly slashed at both knees) and a fedora.

The Clash

Nouvelle Vague

and finally... Arcade Fire ( on a side note, I'm in loooove with their song on the Benjamin Button soundtrack - 'My body is a cage')

okay, I decided to put in 'My body is a cage' although it doesn't mesh with the theme of this post because I love it so much

If the beat's alright she'll dance all night

The Tiki Lounge is undeniably an epicentre of the Halifax music scene. Stompin Tom Connors' pedal board hung on the wall and yet-to-be-released albums played loudly over head. With such a warm, interesting and inviting atmosphere - you'd have no idea we were in a shed in the North End at 20 degrees below zero outside.

I'd heard about this place but never been prior to this night - great local discovery.

We are young and we don't care

I love these guys. The have the most original and interesting music I've heard in a long time plus they do some pretty cool photo shoots...

MGMT
This one was for Rolling Stone when they were named "Artist to watch" in 2008

I'll add more as I find them...

Old Town

I love this song and this video - I can't find it on itunes, which is sad... Something about it makes me happy whenever I hear it. This video isn't the best quality but its the best I could find - this song is hard to come by!

Old Town by Phil Lynott

Such a cool pic...

The Corrs also do a wonderful version of Old Town (although the original by Phil is still my fav):
